In December 2019 the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks [MECP] introduced new legislation, Ontario Regulation 406/19 On-site and Excess Soil Management.
The purpose of this new regulation was triplicate:
Executive profiles – A company is only as strong as its executive leadership. This is a good place to show off who’s occupying the corner offices. Write a nice bio about each executive that includes what they do, how long they’ve been at it, and what got them to where they are.
The regulation applies to a wide variety of projects including small <350 m3 of soil to large >10,000 m3 of soil and mandates certain tasks for your project depending on the volume of excess soil.

This new regulation is not one that should be ignored until soil is ready to be removed from the project site. Therefore, NSSL recommends engaging with a consultant as early as possible in the planning stages of your project so as to avoid unnecessary delays to the project’s timeline and unforeseen costs to the overall budget.
